KEKKAI Matcha – Ceremonial Grade 2-Color Set | Organic Japanese Matcha with Tin, Vert Amande & Burgundy, 30g × 2

Sale price¥21,000

Both colors, one set. Vert Amande and Burgundy together — ideal as a gift or for those who want both expressions of the tin.

The name. Nomu (飲む) means simply to drink. Named not for what it is, but for what one does with it. This is matcha made to be poured into a bowl and taken as it is.

The experience. Every note fully expressed. The colour is deep, the aroma carries far, and the taste holds its full structure — every layer of the leaf present, from the first sip to the finish that remains long after the bowl is empty. It whisks into a thick, lasting foam that lighter matcha cannot achieve. This is matcha for the drinker who has come to know matcha, and wants it as it truly is.

You can make it as a latte, and it will be a good one. But the notes you paid for are the first thing milk covers. Most people who keep this tin reach for it in a bowl and use our STARTER or STANDARD when they want milk.

Origin & making. A blend of Yabukita and Yutakamidori cultivars, sourced from Kagoshima and Miyazaki. First-flush leaves, shaded for roughly twenty-one days — the shading is what builds the umami and takes the edge off the astringency. Ball-milled by Matsudacha (est. 1898), certified organic by JAS. Presented in a handcrafted tin by Kato Seisakusho — an Asakusabashi workshop making tin vessels since 1895. Over a hundred and thirty years of unbroken craft, held in the palm of your hand.
